LUSH Honey I Wash The Kid Soap: Review

I never really stick to one shower gel nor do I really ever use bar soaps. I always constantly change up the gel whenever I finishes one. Sometimes I can have 2 or 3 shower gels in my shower at the same time and I rotate the use according to my mood. But if there is one that I must have it in my shower always is this one: LUSH Honey I Wash The Kid soap.

I have to put a picture from Google for this post because mine does not look good for picture. Hihi.

By the name of it, you guessed it, this soap obviously smells like honey. A very delicious, fragrant, strong-smelling and yummy honey. LUSH sells their soaps in block and by weight. What I like to do it cut them in mini chunks and make it last longer.

This soap doesnt lather that much but the fact that it smells so good makes up for it. I used to keep this in closed container in my shower but since the small chunk is almost finished and makes it difficult to take it off from its container, I just put it on the rack openly. To my surprise, it makes my shower smells so good. Now I just left the small bit on the rack and use another small chunk for shower.

Sadly, there is no LUSH store in Malaysia. The closest in Singapore. However, if you dont have any reason to go there, you can still get this from  LUSH Singapore website because they do International Shipping. Just take note on the shipping charges ok?

I definitely am in love with this soap and this have to be my must have must use soap

The Body Shop Almond Hand & Nail Cream: Review

Now this is one long overdue post. If you have seen my previous few post where I did some shopping during the Body Shop Sale, you may notice this product, which I was most excited to try. Having been able to use this for a while, here are my thoughts on it.

Lets go from the outside to the inside shall we?

The packaging

This comes in an aluminium packaging. First of all, I am not a fan of this kind of packaging because it makes the tube so fragile and ugly looking.

As you can see here, there are dents everywhere. I keep this in a pouch in my handbag because I dont trust this swimming freely inside my handbag fearing it will burst spreading hand cream inside my handbag. My handbag doesnt have a hand.

I always encounter this when Im using it: the minute I twist open the cap, product start spilling towards the side of the cap.

Now that it is clear Im not a fan of the packaging, how does the cream fare?

The product:

This is going to be a love-hate relationship product. I hate the packaging but I love the cream.

It is not too thick like normal cream but not too runny like a lotion. A just nice in between consistency.

It took a while to absorb into skin, thus it does left a sticky feeling on the hands. When it doest absorbs, feels very nice. If you are looking for a hand cream that absorbs immediately, this is not the one because it does take a minute or two to absorb.

The price for 30ml is RM19.90. I've seen this cream in bigger packaging however I can't remember the price. Do visit The Body Shop and have a try of this cream and see how you like it.

May '13 Favourites

Here comes my May 2013 Favourites

(in order Left to Right)

1. Benefit Benetint Lip and Cheek Stain
My favourite dual-purpose product. I did use this as a lip and cheek stain. I love how it gives the most natural blush on my cheek and a beautiful berry pink on my lips. When I go out wearing this, I only need to carry a lipbalm because I dont need to topup my lipcolour even after eating and drinking.

I love love love this lotion/toner. It is very moisturizing and using this with cotton pad somehow provides me with an extra exfoliating process after I wash my face and moisturizing it at the same time. I do notice my skin becomes smoother and has less bump near my nose area. I believe this product helps that.

3. Victoria's Secret Bombshell Body Mist
Despite just purchasing a new perfume, I somehow tend to grab this body mist more this month. Not that I dont like the new perfume. In fact I love my new perfume. Just that I'm afraid it will run out fast thus I grabbed this body mist as a substitute (I'm weird like that). That being said, I love this body mist because it smells sweet and fresh. My tips to make body mist last longer: spray it immediately on the skin after shower while body is still damp (not wet).

4. The Body Shop Almond Hand & Nail Cream
This is a great hand and nail cream. I would only apply it on my hands up to my wrists and also rubbing it into my nails. It doesnt leave my hand greasy and smells nice. This has been my handbag staple since I bought it. Planning a detailed review soon :)

XOXO

Biotherm Aquasource Instant Hydration Softening Lotion

If you read my last empty post, you would know that I ran out of my Dior toner which I love but I was on the fence whether I should repurchase it or try out something new and cheaper. When searching for a new toner, I look out for the ones that is named lotion because my experience was that, when a toner is named 'toner' it is very drying and leave my skin tight. When it is named lotion, it is good for dry skin as it is moisturizing.

So I found an alternative to Dior's but the price does not vary that much. It is a tad cheaper though. It is the  Biotherm Aquasource Instant Hydration Softening Lotion.

This toner has a thick consistency, which is almost gel-like. Targeted for those with dry skin, this toner does wonder to my dry skin. I dont feel guilty skipping moisturizer after using this because my skin does feel very moist as if I just slap on a moisturizer. It is very moisturizing but not to the point leaving my skin oily. I've had this experience with one drugstore toner which I bought immediately after I finished my Dior toner but it broke me out like mad! Thus I purchased this Biotherm toner and fall in love with it.

I saw on the bottle "..with thermal plankton cellular water". I have no idea what it was. So I Googled *wink* and found on blog which you can click here:

Thermal Plankton Cellular Water is a nutrient-rich fluid and the ingredients present in it is 86% similar to our skin's normal moisturizing requirements. This further encourages hydration, soothes the skin and prevents moisture loss.

I dont speak science but it does makes my skin feel moist.

On a side note, I appreciate the tip of this bottle has a small opening for easier control.

For RM90, you get 200ml of product. It is not the cheapest toner available but for the way this has make my skin feels, I would repurchase this once this is finished. I would rather pay for an expensive skincare product which I know does wonder to my skin than to pay less for a product that doesnt do as good. It is important to make sure the skin gets the best care.

I would love to know recommendation for good cheap toner because so far I am not lucky in finding one. Do you know any?

Haul: The Body Shop Huge Sale

The Body Shop had a huge 3 day sale last weekend. Being a person having a low self-restraint, I succumbed to the sale despite telling myself  'NO! You still have many body lotions and body sprays to go through.' Yet, Im able to talk myself onto buying travel sized items because I'll be going on a holiday soon. As if I dont have enough of travel items.

So here queueing up for your eyes, the 'damage' I made:

Although wanting almost everything because most of the items are 50% to 70% off, I was successful in taking 5 small items only. Let me share with you what I grabbed before sharing how much all these cost me.

1. White Musk Chiffon Sheer Body Mist. (70%)
This one brings back memories because White Musk is one of the first fragrance I used so I wanted to have this one .

2. Dreams Unlimited Body Wash. (50%)
Just because I want another small body wash for travel purposes

3. Pink Grapefruit Body Scrub (70%)
I'm almost out of my Shea Butter Body Scrub and I dont want to buy another full size body scrub that day because body scrub items were only on 10% off (except Cocoa Butter Body Scrub). So I settled for this small scrub because it was on 70% off, and I can take it on a holiday with me. It smells nice too.
4. Pink Grapefruit Body Butter (50%)
Because this complements the body scrub, and it is small.

5. Almond Hand & Nail Cream (20%)
This one I grabbed while queueing to pay my four final items before my eyes settle on this and decided I need a hand cream.

All above 5 items cost me RM58.95 after discounts. Without the discounts, I would have to pay a total of RM136.80. That is more than 60% of saving if my calculation is correct. I could have taken more items back home with me but thankfully I managed to put back things I dont need. *pat on the back*

I will be posting reviews on the items above soon.

Did you do any 'damage' during the sale? What did you get? Do share with me in the comments or leave me a link to your page if you blogged about it so I can check them out.

M.A.C Cremesheen Glass in Loud & Lovely: Review & Swatches

Today's post is a  favorite lipgloss post. It is the M.A.C. Cremesheen Glass in the colour Loud & Lovely

Smell

This is by far the best smelling lip product I have. It smells almost chocolate-y and sweet and desert-like. Do I smell pavlova? Yummers!! I used to hate food/fruit smelling lip product and would always opt for the non-fragranced one but somehow I have to make an exception for this one. If you dont want to buy this lipgloss, at least just go to the M.A.C store and smell this. It will definitely make you go 'Ahhh~'.

Packaging

Packaging wise, there is nothing special about this packaging. Just a normal lipgloss packaging. I do love how it has a transparent tube where you can see the product inside. I can tell what colour Im grabbing and also I can tell how much product I have left. For this one, I know I have more or less half gloss left.

See? I can see lacuna there :p

The doe-foot applicator helps apply the gloss beautifully on the lips and the opening of the tube is just nice so as to avoid spillage on the side once I want to close the cap.

Product

Off the tube, the colour might scare some people off because it looks bright and vibrant. Let me tell you, this  deep pink-berry colour is so beautiful on the lips. On my lips, this colour helps to brighten up my skin, somehow making me look fairer, if that makes sense.

The gloss is also very pigmented and great to be worn on its own if you dont want to layer many products on your lips to get a pretty pigmented colour.

Here is a swatch on my hand:

How it looks on my lips:
(excuse my terrible skin condition on my chin)

This gloss doesnt feel sticky on the lips. The consistency is just nice; not too thick nor too runny. It also applies beautifully.

As many other lipglosses, this one is no exception whereas it is not long wearing. If I dont eat nor drink, the gloss remains fine on my lips. Over time, it does loses its shine and left a berry colour on my lips from my constant talking and pursing my lips. Not a stain though. Reapplying is a joy for me actually with this gloss, because I can smell the yummy gloss again.

The overall:

Pros:
Smells good
Beautiful colour
Not sticky

Cons:
Not long wearing

Rate:
9/10

I will definitely repurchase this because the colour is beautiful and I love the smell.

M.A.C. Eyeshadow in Naked Lunch

I dont really wear any eyeshadow because, let me be honest, I dont know how to wear them. The most I'd do on my eyes are eyeliner and mascara. Even that, one eye always looks better/worse than the other. How la you people wear eyeshadow so beautifully.

That being said, if I want to wear eyeshadow, I'd go for the most forgiving shade. And the one I want to share with you lovelies today St a beautiful shade from M.A.C and it comes with a very toasty name: Naked Lunch.

Soooo does it mean you can only wear this eyeshadow when you are having lunch naked?? Bahahaha :p

Naked lunch is a beautiful champagne-like shade with a frost finish. It can also be doubled up as a higlighter. As I have said that I'd go for the most forgiving shade, on my skin, the colour doesnt come out strong. Because this is a frost finish, the shadow is not too pigmented but it gives a beautiful sheen on my eyes. It looks very natural but made up at the same time.

The powder is not chunky nor powdery. Staying power is lacking with this one, therefore I would wear a primer underneath it or else it will make me look as if Im wearing a shiny eyeliner in the middle on my eyelid.

I love how the packaging is compact with transparent snap-on lid.

(My nails accidentally scratched the shadow causing the dent)

Here is a swatch on my hand:

The best way for me to wear this is by patting the brush on my lids rather than swiping because it transfers the colour better that way. Using my finger doesnt do any good because the colour wont transfer from my finger to my lid. The tip of my finger does look pretty after that though :p

The overalls:

Pros:
Beautiful colour
Nice sheen finish on the lid
Compact packaging

Cons:
Expensive

What is your most favourite eyeshadow?

Lancome L'absolu Rouge Lipstick in No. 380

This lipstick really started my make up fascination, lip products for the most part. It is the Lancome L'Absolu Rouge Lipstick in No. 380. After purchasing this lippy, slowly I start buying more lip products. Because I think putting on a colour to your lips instantly makes your face look awake.

The thing I love the most about this lipstick is the packaging. I love how it has a magnetic closure on the cap. So I can throw this lipstick into my handbag and not have to worry about its cap coming off swimming helplessly in my handbag and invite unwanted dirt on my lipstick.

See how the label almost completely rubbed off? That is how I trust this lipstick to be in my handbag and the rough journey it has gone through in there. Rocky road I tell you.

Other than that, its black packaging looks very sleek and elegant with its signature rose on top. Like a cherry on top! The golden tube on the inside also gives it a nice luxurious and vintage feel to it.

The colour I picked up is in the shade No. 380. I would describe it as a rose-y pink berry colour. The lipstick only has a numbering label and seeing that the label on my lipstick if almost rubbed off, it is a bit of a pain trying to figure out the name.

Here is a swatch on my hand:

I love this colour because I find it very flattering. On display, the colour doesnt immediately catches my eye. In fact, it was the SA who recommended me this colour. I was just floating around the counter waiting for a friend looking for her stuff when I started stalking the Lancome display. The SA was very nice to help swatch few colours on my hand and suggested this particular one for me. At first I wasnt interested because I wasnt planning on buying any make up that day, but the more I look at it, I thought it is a nice colour. So, hey hey!!

This lipstick has a creamy texture with a beautiful pigmentation. It gives neither matte nor glossy finish. Just the right amount of shine. It is very moisturizing, and being so,it doesnt last long on the lips and does fade after eating. It doesnt settle into the fine lines nor does it accentuate it. Reapplying after eating is needed, though not compulsory if you dont want too. Honestly I dont mind about this.

Some may overlook and puts SPF on the face only  but forgot the lips. Good thing this lipstick also has SPF 12. SPF any higher than that might brings unappealing scent to the lipstick. Speaking of scent, this lipstick does have a sweet scent to it but nothing too overpowering.

I love this lipstick as I think this is the perfect colour for me. If not because of the price, I would have gone and purchase few other shades from this line. As for now, I will stick to this one colour. See how much I love this lipstick I almost use this up.

The overall:

Pros
Nice pigmentation
Moisturizing
Has magnetic closure
Contains SPF
Doest settle into fine lines

Cons
Not long lasting
Pricey

Will I repurchase: Until I find an exact dupe for this lipstick, yes!

I rate this lipstick 9 out of 10

Stalk My Handbag #2 10052013

First of all, apologize for the lack of updates.

I intended to post a review of this particular gloss, but it was such a hurdle.

First,  it took me forever to take pictures of this lipgloss because it doesnt come out true to real life colour. It took me forever changing the camera setting (I still haven't explored my camera well) and putting it under different lighting when it finally looks similar. When I was about to post it, I discovered another thing. (I purchased this few years ago)

When I was searching for the company's official link to share with you guys, I come to this realization that that lipgloss could be a limited edition. Because I can't find the official link although there are other review links. I dont know if I should put it up or not. I dont want to put something you can't go buy if you want to.

So, I will just share a picture today of this gorgeous thing that is giving me a hard time :(

Dior Addict Ultra Gloss Flash in No. 662

That being said, I decided to post a new Stalk My Handbag post to make it up to my lack of post. I changed handbag from my last post and the things inside also are different.

Inside zip pocket

Two side pockets

And just when I thought that is all, I see something floating in the main compartment in the midst of the chaos in my handbag

So, I fish it all out and lay it neatly on the table.
Top L-R:
M.A.C Studio Perferct SPF 15 Powder Foundation
Silky Girl Gloss On Lip Colour in Just Pink
Nivea Pure & Natural Lipbalm
Dior Lipbalm in Crystal Pink (No. 002)
Dior Addict Ultra Gloss Flash in No. 662
(see how the colour here is different than above's? Above picture is the real colour)
Lancome L'absolue Rouge in No 380
Perfume Atomizer (I put in Flora by Gucci)

Bottom (L-R)
Clean & Clear Oil Control Film
Mirror

I seriously dont know when I threw all these in my handbag. It must have been accumulated everyday. I do remember taking Silky Girl lipstick today.

Do you carry this much stuff too?

L'Oreal True Match Touche Magique Concealer

It took me a while to decide the title of this post because today's product has a super lengthy name. Brace yourself:

L'Oreal True Match / Perfect Match / Alliance Perfect Touch Magique Anti-Fatigue and Illuminating Concealer - Smoothing Effect

*gasp*

Hence, the title is how I shortened it.

This is what is said by the company:
True Match Touche Magique concealer is an illuminating concealer which helps improve the appearance of dark circles and fine lines. It will leave the delicate skin around the eye area looking radiant, as well as perfectly concealing any blemishes.

This product has been raved as being a dupe to the YSL Touche Eclat. I however have no experience with the YSL's thus I can't compare but to experience this on its own. So how does this fare?

Packaging

This comes in a twist pen with attached brush. You simply twist the end and product with come out through the brush part but sadly I find the brush is a bit stiff and scratchy. I love how the packaging is very slim and compact making it easier to bring around even in the slimmest purse.

The brush

I find it difficult to control the amount of product I want when I twist the click pen. It makes a click sound when I twist it and I dont know how many twist is needed and all of a sudden a thick blob comes out of it. With time and getting to know the pen for a while makes our relationship becomes smoother *ahem*

Product

There are only 2 shades available here. I can't find the shade on the packaging but I believe mine is in the lightest shade here (Ivory Beige).

The swatch

Although it is marketed more towards illuminating and covering dark circle under the eye, I use it more on covering my dark spots and pimple scars. I was skeptical at first to use on my dark spots because I dont want to illuminate that area. Somehow I find it covers my dark spots beautifully. It also beautiful to be used under the eye area to highlight the area. Because the consistency is thick, it doesnt slip and slide easily on the skin although it can get cake-y easily if Im not careful with the amount of product I put on my skin. Also a plus point for being long lasting.

The overalls:

Pros

Affordable
Slim packaging
Great coverage

Cons
Limited shade range
Stiff brush

Rate:
8.5/10

Have you tried this? What do you think?

What's In My Travel Make Up Bag: May 2013

Im currently back at home this weekend for the upcoming General Election. Going home, there are few make up items I bring back with me. So today I thought, I'd like to share with you what I bring with me for my 4 day trip. I did one of this post previously so you can check it here. The contents are very different but using the same bag.

There wont be any lengthy reviews on these products because I planned on writing a proper review soon. But as of today, just take a look at what I have with me.

This is the make up bag I bring with me and everything in it.

For the purpose of this post, I will categorize it to different category with pictures first and the list of the product below.

Lips
This one I think I went a little bit overboard. Just because I cant decide which colour I want to wear, and I have different lipbalms for different occassion.

Smith's Strawberry Lipbalm -my night lipbalm
Dior Addict Gloss in Flash (No. 662)
Dior Lipbalm in Crystal Pink (No. 002) - tinted lipbalm
Lancome L'absolue Rouge Lipstick in No. 380

Face
(L-R)
M.A.C Studio Perfect SPF 15 Foundation in NC30
M.A.C Charged Water (transfered into a smaller spray bottle)
Smashbox Tinted Moisturizer in Light
Maybelline Mineral Concealer in Fair

Cheek
Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheek in Powder Pink

Since there is only 1 product I took with me for my cheek, I have another picture of what the colour looks like.

Eyes
 (L-R)
Maybelline Hypersharp Eyeliner in Black
Essence Brow Kit
Benefit Stay Dont Stray Primer (Mini)

Tools
Small Kabuki - for face powder
Angled Brush - for brow
Tweezer

So what do you think? Did I bring too much? :p Is there any product here you want me to do a review first? Do let me know in the comments.

And if you have done this kind of post in you blog, do leave me a link below so I can go check. Dont forget to follow my blog too.

:)
